HYBRID QUANTUM DEVICE LAB We explore the frontiers of quantum science and technology with solid-state devices that exhibit quantum phenomena in multiple physical domains. As these “hybrid” quantum devices utilize strong and controllable interactions between disparate quantum systems, such as phonons, photons, magnon, and electrons, they are envisioned to maximize the potential of quantum technology for multifunctional quantum information systems. In particular, we focus on superconducting and mechanical quantum devices. These devices are artificial quantum systems that harness photons and phonons to implement two-level and harmonic oscillator states in quantum circuits. By developing superconducting and mechanical quantum hybrid devices, we aim to create essential elements for processing and transducing quantum information in a scalable circuit platform. more
